Lap Swim Fall 2019 Semester Pass

Registration closes in 10 days

This is an open swim class available to the general public for the current semester. The program is reserved for participants 18 years and older.

Lane availability will be on a first come basis. Participants will only be permitted to come during this schedule pool time. In the event of a pool closure, you will be notified via email.

Lap Swim is available between 8:30am - 10:30am on Monday through Friday mornings.

Lap Swim Semester Pass is $650 for the Fall 2019 Semester.

Lap Swim Semester Pass begins on Monday, September 9 and ends Friday, December 13.

There will not be Lap Swim on Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29.


Level 1 Fall 2019 - Session A - Saturday

Introduction to Water Skills
Prerequisite: Ages 4 and older—non swimmers

Begin to develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits and safety in and around the water. A beginners class where the instructor will teach proper kicking, floating and basic stroke technique with assistance.

Each lesson is ½ hour, please be sure you pick the correct day and time.

The cost of the five week session is $160.

Saturday classes will meet on Saturday, September 14, 21, 28, October 5 & 12.

We do not offer make-up classes or a change of day or time for conflicts please be aware of this prior to registering your child.

Classes will run every 30 minutes from 9am until 11:30am

Level 1 Fall 2019 - Session A - Sunday

Introduction to Water Skills
Prerequisite: Ages 4 and older—non swimmers

Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Prerequisite: Able to swim more than 5 yards unaided with their face in the water freestyle and float on their backs without help

This level will give participants a chance to increase their fundamental skills, including learning how to float without support and recover to a vertical position. Students will need to be putting their face underwater and able to swim more than 5 yards unaided, proper technique of freestyle(crawl stroke).

Each lesson is ½ hour.

The cost of the five week session is $160.

Stroke Development
Prerequisite: Able to swim no less than 15 yards Front & Back crawl , tread water for 1 minute

Students will build on the skills learned in Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper water. Students will begin to learn the early stages of rotary breathing as well as breaststroke and butterfly kicks.

Each lesson is 45 minutes.

The cost of the five week session is $160.

Saturday classes will meet on Saturday, September 14, 21, 28, October 5 & 12.

Classes will run every 45mins from 9am until 11:15am

Level 3 Fall 2019- Session A - Sunday

Stroke Development
Prerequisite: Able to swim no less than 15 yards Front & Back crawl , tread water for 1 minute

Students will build on the skills learned in Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper water. Students will begin to learn the early stages of rotary breathing as well as breaststroke and butterfly kicks.

Each lesson is 45 minutes.

Prerequisite: 25 yards Front & Back crawl, 2 minutes treading water, breaststroke & butterfly kicks, knowledge of diving and turns

Develop confidence in the strokes learned in Level 3 and improve other aquatic skills including open turns, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, butterfly and sidestroke.

Each lesson is 45 minutes.

The cost of the five week session is $160.

Max Cardio Interval Training Fall 2019

Registration closes in 10 days

A combination of high intensity and low impact cardio combined with both body weight and dumbbell intervals. This class gets your heart pumping with fun cardio moves and builds bone density with heavy and light weight intervals. An emphasis on personal attention and proper technique helps you build lean muscle so you slim down and get stronger. Program is reserved for participants 18 years and older.

Classes meet Tuesday and Thursday at 7:15am for 1 hour, $500

Classes will begin September 10, 2019 and will end December 12, 2019

There will be no class Thursday, November 28, 2019

 Swim Lessons:

Please make sure that you register each child according to the class that best fits their ability;

classes are not based on your child's age.  Lessons are for children ages 4 and older.

FAQ:

The pool temperature is kept at 81-82 degrees

Class sizes are kept at no more than a 5 -1 ratio, many classes are kept lower

 

Class time and size are limited and should fill up quickly.  We will not have additional class times to offer once they are filled. We do not offer make up classes, so please review the dates before registering.  Thank you for your understanding.

We are located off of the Cross County Parkway, which is accessible from the Hutchinson River Parkway, the Bronx River Parkway, the New York Thruway or the Saw Mill River Parkway.

 

If you plan to use GPS navigation, our building is located at 12 Wilgarth Road, Yonkers, NY. This is not a mailing address.

 

If you are coming EAST on the Cross County (from the Saw Mill Parkway or the NY Thruway): Take EXIT 5, Kimball/Midland, go to the bottom of the exit ramp and turn LEFT onto Kimball Avenue.  You will go under the parkway, through the first traffic light and the building will be on your LEFT.  Go just past the building and turn left and then left again into the driveway.  Park in the back.

 

If you are coming WEST on the Cross County (from the Hutchinson Parkway): Take EXIT 5, Kimball/Midland, go to the end of the exit ramp and turn RIGHT at the stop light.  At the next traffic light turn LEFT onto Kimball Avenue.  The building will be immediately on your LEFT.  Go just past the building and turn left and then left again into the driveway.  Park in the back.
