Lap Swim Spring 2018 Semester Pass

This is an drop in Lap Swim Pass for the current Semester. Open to those looking to swim some laps, all lap swim abilities welcome. Lane availability will be on a first come basis. Participants will only be permitted to come during this schedule pool time. Program is reserved for participants 18 years and older, make-up classes not available.

Lap Swim available between 7:15am - 9:15am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning.

Lap Swim begins Monday, January 22 and ends Friday, May 11
No Class held between Monday, March 12 through Friday, March 23
Classes resume Monday, March 26


Swim For Fitness Spring 2018

The class is designed to use lap swimming as a cardiovascular workout. Swimmers should have knowledge of freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke, but it is not required. Feedback is available to improve strokes, but this is not a learn-to-swim class. Different workouts are provided each session and swimmers will swim anywhere from ¾ mile to over 1½ miles per class. Program is reserved for participants 18 years and older.

Classes vary, please check each section below.
Section B: Mon/Wed - 9:15AM (1 Hour) - $560
Section C: Tues/Thurs - 9:15AM (1 Hour) - $560
Section D: Friday Only - 9:15AM (1 Hour) - $280

Level 1 Winter 2018

Introduction to Water Skills
Prerequisite: Ages 4 and older—non swimmers

Begin to develop positive attitudes, good swimming habits and safety in and around the water. A beginners class where the instructor will teach proper kicking, floating and basic stroke technique with assistance.

Classes will meet every 30 minutes starting at 9am last class starting at 11:30am
Each lesson is ½ hour
Price per child is $150

Classes will meet on Sunday, January 28, February 4, 11, 25 and March 4. **Please note that there will be NO classes held on Sunday, February 18.**

Level 2 Winter 2018

Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Prerequisite: Able to swim more than 5 yards unaided with their face in the water freestyle and float on their backs without help

This level will give participants a chance to increase their fundamental skills, including learning how to float without support and recover to a vertical position. Students will need to be comfortable putting their face underwater and able to swim more than 5 yards unaided.

Classes will meet every 30 minutes starting at 9am last class starting at 11:30am
Each lesson is ½ hour.
Price per child is $150

Level 3 Winter 2018

Stroke Development
Prerequisite: Able to swim no less than 15 yards Front & Back crawl , tread water for 1 minute

Students will build on the skills learned in Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper water. Students will begin to learn the early stages of rotary breathing as well as breaststroke and butterfly kicks.

Classes will meet every 45 minutes starting at 9am last class starting at 11:15am
Each lesson is 45 minutes.
Price per child is $150

Classes will meet on Sunday, January 28, February 4, 11, 25 and March 4. **Please note that there will be NO classes held on Sunday, February 18.**

Level 4 Winter 2018

Stroke Improvement
Prerequisite: 25 yards Front & Back crawl, 2 minutes treading water, breaststroke & butterfly kicks, knowledge of diving and turns

Develop confidence in the strokes learned in Level 3 and improve other aquatic skills including open turns, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, butterfly and sidestroke.

Classes will meet at 9am and 10:30am
Each lesson is 45 minutes.
Price per child is $150

Classes will meet on Sunday, January 28, February 4, 11, 25 and March 4. **Please note that there will be NO classes held on Sunday, February 18.**

Level 5 Winter 2018

Stroke Refinement
Prerequisite: 50 yards Freestyle & Backstroke each, knowledge of diving, turns, breaststroke & butterfly

Further coordination and refinement of all strokes and adding in freestyle & backstroke flip turns. Students will also work on building endurance by swimming longer distances.

Classes will meet at 9:45am and 11:15am
Each lesson is 45 minutes.

Max Cardio Interval Training Spring 2018

Registration closes in 9 days

A combination of high intensity and low impact cardio combined with both body weight and dumbbell intervals. This class gets your heart pumping with fun cardio moves and builds bone density with heavy and light weight intervals. An emphasis on personal attention and proper technique helps you build lean muscle so you slim down and get stronger. We use modifications and progressions to help you work at the best level for you.

Classes meet on Tuesday & Thursday mornings at 7:15am for 1 hour.

Tuesday & Thursday Mornings - $460

Classes begin January 23, 2018 and will end April 26, 2018.

No classes will be held on March 13, 15, 20, 22 and April 3


Small Group Personal Training Spring 2018

Registration closes in 9 days

A dynamic workout combining all of the latest fitness trends with practical programming. We work at the level that is best for you, increase intensity and duration based on each individuals performance. Intervals of Cardio, bodyweight and strength keep your heart pumping. Fitness testing, postural alignment and stability training make this class an effective way to work with a personal trainer in a group setting. Finally a workout that will help you reach your goals.

Classes meet on Tuesday & Thursday mornings at 9:30am for 1 hour.

Tuesday & Thursday Mornings - $525

Classes begin January 23, 2018 and will end April 26, 2018.

No Classes will be held on March 13, 15, 20, 22 and April 3.

Please make sure that you register each child according to the class that best fits their ability; classes are not based on your child's age.  If you have any questions about your child's ability please do not hesitate to contact us.

 

FAQ:

The pool temperature is kept at 81-82 degrees

Class sizes are kept at no more than a 5 -1 ratio, many classes are kept lower

 

Class time and size are limited and should fill up quickly.  We will not have additional class times to offer once they are filled. We do not offer make up classes, so please review the dates before registering.  Thank you for your understanding.

We are located off of the Cross County Parkway, which is accessible from the Hutchinson River Parkway, the Bronx River Parkway, the New York Thruway or the Saw Mill River Parkway.

 

If you plan to use GPS navigation, our building is located at 12 Wilgarth Road, Yonkers, NY. This is not a mailing address.

 

If you are coming EAST on the Cross County (from the Saw Mill Parkway or the NY Thruway): Take EXIT 5, Kimball/Midland, go to the bottom of the exit ramp and turn LEFT onto Kimball Avenue.  You will go under the parkway, through the first traffic light and the building will be on your LEFT.  Go just past the building and turn left and then left again into the driveway.  Park in the back.

 

If you are coming WEST on the Cross County (from the Hutchinson Parkway): Take EXIT 5, Kimball/Midland, go to the end of the exit ramp and turn RIGHT at the stop light.  At the next traffic light turn LEFT onto Kimball Avenue.  The building will be immediately on your LEFT.  Go just past the building and turn left and then left again into the driveway.  Park in the back.
